The Aviation Museum in Pearl Harbor is one of the latest additions to the islands sightseeing spots.
View the historic displays and film of the 1941 attack on the “date that will live in infamy”. See the aircraft of WWII and sit in simulators (additional cost applies). Then you will board a U.S. Navy launch for the short trip to the memorial itself. After your time at the memorial it is on to Punchbowl Cemetery, The National Cemetery of the Pacific. It is the final resting place for such heroes such as Ernie Pyle (WWII legendary correspondent) and Ellison Onizuka (space shuttle Challenger). This is a drive through as buses are not permitted to stop on these hallowed grounds.
Then it is onto Iolani Palace, the only royal palace on U.S. soil. Other sites include Kawaiahao Church, the State Library, the King Kamehameha Statue, Honolulu Hale (City Hall) and the Mission Houses Museum. Explore history and the land that was once another country.
