Get a head start on your day and scour the ocean for migrating whales on an exciting whale watch cruise from Honolulu. Set sail on Hawaii’s largest passenger cruise ship with dining rooms, observation decks and a narration — you are even guaranteed you will spot a whale on your morning excursion!
Sail Aboard the Star of Honolulu
Your early bird whale watch begins bright and early with an 8:45 a.m. departure aboard the Star of Honolulu, a 1,500-passenger cruise ship. You can be picked up from the Aloha Tower Marketplace or can make your own way over to Pier 8 at Irwin Park for your departure. Your four-deck ship features six dining rooms and lounges, full cash bars, restrooms on each deck, and a 60-foot high observation and sun deck. You can even choose to have breakfast aboard the ship.
See Whales and Oahu’s Gold Coast
As you set off from Honolulu toward Diamond Head and the Kahala Gold Coast, you will take in the scenic beauty of Oahu. A Certified Naturalist will be on board, narrating all you are seeing, including when whales are spotted. The whales visit the Hawaiian waters in the winter months, between December and April, and are so plentiful, the Star of Honolulu guarantees you will see one or receive a free return Whale Check.
