The majestic Big Island of Hawaii is so large it is tough to visit its highlights on a vacation. But you can see the best the island has to offer in less than an hour on a helicopter adventure that takes you from Hilo to the Circle of Fire, where the still-active Kilauea volcano continues to spew liquid fire from the core of the Earth, and waterfalls descend from the mountain rainforests.

Soar Above Rainforests and Waterfalls

Your helicopter excursion is led by a pilot who is certified as a State of Hawaii tour guide. Your pilot will take you above the Big Island’s rainforests and cascading waterfalls, pointing out historic and beautiful settings. While traveling on the helicopter, you will be equipped with Bose aviation-grade, noise-canceling headphones and a two-way to talk to your pilot. DVD recordings of your flight are available for purchase when you land back at Hilo’s airport.

Safely Watch Lava Flow to the Sea

Witness the Circle of Fire on your 50-minute helicopter ride departing in the morning and afternoon from Hilo International Airport. You will soar above the Kilauea volcano, which has been erupting continuously since 1983. While some eruptions prevent visitors to see the lava by car, and some roads have been destroyed by the lava flow at Volcanoes National Park, you will take in the geologic wonder from the comfort and safety of the sky.
